How to treat high creatinine levels and allergic reactions in Ayurveda? - #56670
Hello! I have had bad allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) for my whole life to nuts. My allergic reactions weren't treated correctly and have caused damage to my blood pressure and blood flow, thus impacting my kidneys and giving me bad headaches. Now I have too much creatine in my blood. Is there an Ayurvedic treatment that can help me? Thank you.
Doctors' responses
In Ayurveda, raised creatinine is interpreted as a sign of kidney (Mutravaha Srotas) dysfunction, usually involving: Vata aggravation (impaired circulation and filtration) Pitta involvement (inflammation / damage) Weak “Ojas” (overall tissue strength) However, your case has an important added factor: Repeated anaphylactic allergic reactions (life-long severe immune stress) This is medically significant and can contribute to systemic inflammation and kidney strain over time. Very important first point (safety) Because you have: History of anaphylaxis Possible kidney impairment (high creatinine) Low energy + headaches You should NOT rely on herbs alone You must also be under nephrologist supervision + kidney function monitoring Ayurvedic understanding of your condition Your condition can be seen as: 1. Mutravaha Srotas Dushti (kidney channel damage) Reduced filtration ability Toxin accumulation (Ama) 2. Vata aggravation Poor blood flow to kidneys Fatigue, dryness, weakness 3. Pitta irritation (from inflammation/allergy history) Tissue damage tendency Headaches, heat imbalance Ayurvedic treatment principles Goal is: protect kidney function reduce inflammation improve filtration gently strengthen body tissues (Ojas) Common Ayurvedic support (kidney-safe approach) 1. Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) Best herb for kidney and urinary support Helps improve renal filtration gently Reduces urinary strain 2. Punarnava Reduces kidney swelling and fluid imbalance Supports detox and kidney regeneration Very commonly used in elevated creatinine cases 3. Varun (Crataeva nurvala) Supports urinary tract and kidney function Helps reduce obstruction and metabolic waste 4. Chandraprabha Vati upports urinary system and metabolic balance 5. Amla (Amalaki) Antioxidant, cooling, tissue protective Helps reduce oxidative stress on kidneys Diet (very important in kidney protection) Helpful foods: Rice, moong dal (light khichdi) Bottle gourd (lauki), pumpkin Cucumber Coconut water (if potassium is normal) Warm water Avoid: High protein excess Packaged foods Very salty foods NSAID painkillers (very harmful for kidneys) Any known allergens (nuts strictly avoided in your case) Allergy factor (very important in your case) Repeated anaphylaxis means: your immune system is highly reactive So Ayurveda focuses on: immune calming (Ojas strengthening) avoiding triggering foods completely reducing inflammation load Supportive Rasayana (rejuvenation) Ashwagandha (low dose, if tolerated) → strength + stress reduction Guduchi (Giloy) → immune modulation + inflammation control Amla → kidney + antioxidant support Lifestyle Adequate hydration (but not excessive) Gentle walking Stress reduction (very important for kidney function) Adequate sleep
Based on your description, you have a history of severe nut allergy (anaphylaxis) and now report elevated creatinine, impaired kidney function, headaches, and blood pressure/circulation concerns. —From an Ayurvedic perspective, this may be viewed as a combination of Rakta Dushti (vitiated blood), Ama accumulation, and Vata-Pitta imbalance, but kidney impairment with elevated creatinine is a serious medical condition. ----rx 1) Punarnava Mandur – 1–2 tablets twice daily after meals. 2) Chandraprabha Vati – 1–2 tablets twice daily after meals. 3) Punarnavasava – 15–20 ml with equal water twice daily after meals. 4) Gokshuradi Guggulu – 1–2 tablets twice daily after meals. ----Diet & Lifestyle Avoid all nuts and any known allergy triggers completely. Follow a kidney-friendly diet as advised by your nephrologist. Maintain adequate hydration if not restricted by your doctor. Avoid excess salt, processed foods, alcohol, and smoking. Practice gentle breathing exercises and stress reduction.
