Which herbs are recommended for severe osteoporosis? My mother is vegetarian/vegan diet for the last 37 years and taking Fosamax since 2024, when she had pelvic fracture. Her T-score of the spine (L1-L4) is -4.1. Left femoral neck is -2.1 and Left total hip is -1.2. Left Forearm T-score is -2.5.

Ashwagandha 500 mg Twice daily after meals 3)Praval Pishti 250 mg Twice daily with honey or warm water 4)Godanti Bhasma 250 mg Once daily 5)Hadjod Capsule 500 mg Twice daily ----Rasayana Support (After 6–8 Weeks) ----External Therapy - Mahanarayan Taila Abhyanga Daily local massage over spine & hips Followed by mild fomentation — Panchakarma (If feasible) Matra Basti (medicated oil enema) 7–14 days Best for Vata-related bone loss Should be done under supervision. — Pathya (Diet Advice – VERY Important) Because she is vegan for 37 years: - Increase protein intake -Sesame seeds (til) daily -Almonds soaked - Ragi (finger millet) - Fortified plant milk - Sun exposure 15–20 min Avoid: Excess dry foods Excess raw salads Cold foods Excess caffeine — Important -Do NOT stop Fosamax without consulting her physician. -----Monitor: Vitamin D B12 Serum calcium ----Severe osteoporosis (–4.1 spine) may require bone-building modern therapy alongside Ayurveda.

Lakshadi Guggulu Best for bone healing & strengthening 500 mg–1 g twice daily with warm milk (or almond milk) Asthi Shrinkhala Improves bone density & fracture recovery 500 mg twice daily after food Ashwagandha Improves bone formation & strength 500 mg at night with warm milk Praval Pishti or Mukta Shukti (natural calcium source) 250 mg twice daily after meals Diet Since she is vegan/vegetarian long-term Sesame seeds (til) daily Ragi (finger millet) Almonds (soaked) Drumstick leaves Sunlight exposure 20 minutes daily (Vitamin D) Gentle weight-bearing exercise (walking) Avoid excessive fasting
