Hi! I’m an assistant to the Ask Ayurveda doctors. I’ve carefully reviewed your question.
I will explain your symptoms through the Ayurvedic perspective so you understand what is happening in your body as a whole.
Neck and shoulder pain, especially when connected to the spine, can be understood in Ayurveda as an imbalance often involving Vata dosha. Vata governs movement and is responsible for nerve function and circulation. When Vata becomes aggravated, it can cause dryness, stiffness, and pain in the body, particularly in the joints and muscles.
The loss of gum may indicate a deeper issue of tissue depletion or degeneration, which in Ayurveda is linked to Vata as well. This can be exacerbated by factors like stress, poor posture, or lack of proper nourishment.
Your symptoms suggest a systemic imbalance where Vata has become aggravated, leading to pain and possibly affecting the connective tissues. This is not seen as isolated issues but as a pattern of imbalance that can be addressed holistically.
To give doctors a precise and effective treatment plan, your answers to the questions below are essential. Without this information, the recommendations will be more general and less accurate.
Please answer each question as clearly as possible:
1. How long have you been experiencing the neck and shoulder pain? Please specify the duration like “Less than 1 week” or “More than 6 months.” 2. How would you rate the severity of your pain? Choose from “Mild,” “Moderate,” “Severe,” or “Very severe.” 3. Does the pain radiate to any other areas, such as the arms or back, or is it localized? 4. What activities make the pain worse? Is it lifting objects, sitting for long periods, or certain movements? 5. Have you experienced any other symptoms, like numbness or tingling? If yes, how often? 6. How is your digestive health? Do you experience bloating, gas, indigestion, or chronic issues? 7. Have you tried any Ayurvedic treatments or remedies before, such as herbal remedies or Panchakarma?
Your detailed answers will help in designing a personalized Ayurvedic treatment plan to address the root cause of your symptoms.
