Hi! I’m an assistant to the Ask Ayurveda doctors. I’ve carefully reviewed your question.
I will explain your symptoms through the Ayurvedic perspective so you understand what is happening in your body as a whole.
Your shoulder pain and limited movement, especially at night, suggest a Vata imbalance, which is often associated with dryness, irregularity, and pain. The cervical issues and osteoporosis indicate that your bones and joints might be affected by this imbalance, leading to stiffness and restricted movement. The fact that you can move your arm after exercise but the pain returns indicates a temporary relief in Vata stagnation, but the underlying imbalance persists.
Ayurveda views these symptoms as a systemic issue rather than isolated problems. The presence of osteoporosis and cervical problems suggests a deeper Vata imbalance affecting your bones and nervous system. This imbalance may be exacerbated by stress, irregular routines, or a diet lacking in nourishing, warm, and grounding foods that pacify Vata.
To give doctors a precise and effective treatment plan, your answers to the questions below are essential. Without this information, the recommendations will be more general and less accurate.
Please answer each question as clearly as possible.
1. How long have you been experiencing shoulder pain? Please specify if it’s less than 1 week, 1-4 weeks, 1-6 months, or more than 6 months. 2. How would you rate the severity of your shoulder pain? Is it mild, moderate, severe, or very severe? 3. When does the pain in your shoulder feel the worst? Is it in the morning, afternoon, evening/night, or is there no specific pattern? 4. Have you noticed any specific activities that trigger your shoulder pain? For example, certain movements, lifting objects, or specific sleeping positions? 5. How is your overall mobility and activity level during the day? Are you very active, moderately active, sedentary, or very limited due to pain? 6. How would you describe your sleep quality due to this pain? Is it sound and restful, light or interrupted, difficult to fall asleep, or very poor? 7. Have you tried any treatments for your shoulder pain before? If so, were they home remedies, over-the-counter medication, or prescribed medication or therapy?
Your answers will help in tailoring a more specific Ayurvedic approach to your condition.
