For weight gain through Ayurveda, it’s essential to address the root of the issue by understanding your individual constitution or dosha. Each person’s prakriti, whether Vata, Pitta, or Kapha, plays a significant role in how one constructs and maintains body weight.
If you’ve already been using Kurmikuthar Ras and seen little changes, there could be deeper factors at play, such as Agni (digestive fire) imbalance. You may consider improving your digestion first. Start with chew a small piece of ginger with a pinch of salt some 15-20 minutes before meals. This can stimulate Agni.
Your diet should consist of nourishing, calorie-dense but healthy foods. Add ghee to your meals; not only does it provide a high-calorie content, but it also balances Vata dosha effectively. Include cooked grains like brown rice, quinoa, along with organization lentils. You could consider milk, natural sugars like honey, or jaggery, nuts like almonds or walnuts, and ripe fruits in moderation.
Ensure you’re getting adequate rest and engage in strengthening exercises that promote muscle growth without over-expending energy. Yoga poses like Virabhadrasana (Warrior Pose) and Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose) may be beneficial and help in overall body strengthening.
