Doctors’ responses

Your symptoms of bloating, constipation, and occasional acidity suggest an imbalance of Vata and Pitta doshas. Vata causes irregular bowel movements and bloating, while Pitta contributes to acidity. Even home-cooked food can trigger issues if digestion is weak or incompatible foods are consumed. Ayurvedic Management: Dietary Changes: Avoid cold, raw, and overly spicy foods. Opt for warm, freshly cooked meals. Include fiber-rich vegetables like cooked carrots and spinach to ease constipation. Use digestive spices like cumin, fennel, and ajwain in your meals. Home Remedies: Drink warm water with lemon and a pinch of rock salt in the morning. Take 1 teaspoon of Triphala powder with warm water at bedtime to relieve constipation and promote digestion. Lifestyle Tips: Eat at regular times and avoid overeating. Practice deep breathing or yoga to reduce stress, which can aggravate digestion. Persistent issues require consultation with an Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized guidance.

Your symptoms indicate a condition resembling Shita-Pitta or Vata-Pitta imbalance, commonly aggravated during winter due to cold and dry weather. The dryness, itching, and cracking on the back of your hands suggest aggravated Vata (dryness) combined with Pitta (inflammation and prickling sensation). This is exacerbated by cold air stripping moisture from the skin. Ayurvedic Management: External Application: Apply warm sesame oil or coconut oil to the affected areas. These oils moisturize and balance Vata while soothing Pitta. Use herbal creams or oils containing Aloe Vera, Kumari, and Calendula for hydration and healing. Before bedtime, massage your hands with a mixture of Ghee and Turmeric to reduce dryness and prevent infections. Internal Remedies: Take 1–2 teaspoons of Gandharvahastadi Taila or castor oil with warm water at night to balance Vata. Consume Triphala powder with warm water to detoxify and prevent dryness. Dietary Changes: Include ghee, sesame seeds, nuts, and seasonal fruits like oranges and pomegranates in your diet. Avoid cold, dry, and processed foods. Lifestyle Tips: Wear gloves to protect hands from cold air. Avoid excessive hand washing with harsh soaps; opt for mild herbal cleansers. Consistent care and hydration can resolve your symptoms over time. If the condition persists, consult an Ayurvedic practitioner for tailored advice.
