It's really nice to get you here. I am identified with a hollow in my gums between my two teeth which is giving me excruciating pain and bleeding. I don't have the capability to do gum grafting. Can I get any help from your platform. Thanks in advance.

For addressing a painful hollow in your gums with bleeding, Ayurveda offers some practical home remedies that can help manage symptoms and promote gum health, though it’s crucial to note these are supportive measures and not a substitute for professional dental care if the condition worsens.

Firstly, try using a combination of Triphala powder to rinse your mouth. Make a decoction by boiling 1 teaspoon of Triphala in water, allow it to cool slightly, and then rinse for a few minutes. Triphala is traditionally valued for its astringent, anti-inflammatory, and healing properties, beneficial for oral health.

Oil pulling may also provide relief — coconut oil or sesame oil are commonly recommended. Swish 1 tablespoon of oil in your mouth for about 10-15 minutes first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach. Spit it out—don’t swallow—and follow with brushing teeth as usual. This practice may reduce harmful bacteria and support gum healing.

Incorporating turmeric, with its anti-inflammatory properties, could be beneficial as well. Create a paste with turmeric powder and water, applying it gently on the affected gum area for a few minutes before rinsing.

Ayurvedically, it’s crucial to consider a Pitta balancing diet as gum inflammation can be aggravated by Pitta. Avoid overly spicy, oily, or sour foods. Instead, favor cooling and soothing foods like cucumbers, sweet fruits, and plenty of water to maintain moisture levels in your body.

In addition, gentle massage with ayurvedic oils like neem oil, or Amalaka (Indian gooseberry) can also support gum health. Make sure to practice good oral hygiene, floss gently, and keep away from any habits like tobacco that can worsen the condition. If it does not improve within a few days or gets worse, seeking a dentist’s evaluation is important to prevent more serious issues.
