Doctors' responses
Lower front teeth (behind) are the most common place for tartar buildup Once formed, brushing alone cannot remove it It can trap stains → making teeth look darker over time Mild sensitivity can occur due to gum irritation underneath
Ayurveda can help soften deposits, reduce further buildup, improve colour slightly, and protect enamel — especially if the tartar is still early.
Ayurvedic Prescription 1. Pratisarana (tooth massage) Triphala churna + fine rock salt (2:1) Dose: ¼ tsp, gently rub on affected tooth Time: Once daily, morning
2. Gandusha (oil pulling) Sesame oil Dose: 1 tbsp Time: 5–10 min daily before brushing
3. Brushing Herbal tooth powder (Neem / Babool / Triphala) Time: Twice daily
4. Internal Triphala churna Dose: ½ tsp with warm water Time: Night
⏳ Duration: 3–4 weeks ⚠️ Hardened tartar may not fully remove without scaling.
