Impact of Dental Procedures on Bodily Functions and Cognition - #48025
Does removal of teeth for braces and wisdom teeth and rct or fillings affect any bodily functions, brain capacity, memory, or cognitive functions? This question may sound silly but I am just asking as I am curious to know. Or it has no bearing on function of any other body part or function. Please guide correctly only.

Doctors' responses
No. Tooth removal, braces, wisdom tooth extraction, root canal treatment, or fillings do NOT affect brain capacity, memory, intelligence, or cognitive functions. Teeth and dental nerves are not connected to brain function in a way that affects thinking or memory. These procedures are local and only affect the mouth area. Only untreated dental infections (not the treatment itself) can rarely cause general health problems. So, you can be reassured — dental treatments have no harmful effect on other body functions or the brain.
Thank you so much for your guidance. Really value it.
