I have been losing bone since childhood. How do I regrow my bone ? Also I have had receiving gum tissue since I was around 14, is there a way to regrow my gum tissue how do I stop the loss of gum tissue?

Regrowing bone and gum tissue require a holistic approach where Ayurveda can offer supportive strategies. Tradition in Ayurveda underscores the importance of nourishing the dhatus (tissues), particularly asthi dhatu (bones) and rakta dhatu (blood), to encourage regeneration and healing. A key concept is balancing your doshas, which involves personalized strategies depending on whether vata, pitta, or kapha imbalances are evident.

For bone health, ensure your diet is rich in calcium and minerals. Consider including sesame seeds which are rich in calcium, almonds, and green leafy vegetables in your meals. Ashwagandha and Shatavari are recommended herbs; they can be consumed in powdered form mixed with warm milk. Make sure to keep your agni (digestive fire) strong, as a robust digestion ensures better nutrient absorption. A glass of warm turmeric milk at night can also aid in bone strength and reduce inflammation.

With gum tissue, triphala is a helpful herbal formula for maintaining good oral health. You can make a rinse with triphala powder and warm water, swishing it in your mouth can help reduce inflammation and strengthen gums. Oil pulling with sesame or coconut oil, done in the morning on an empty stomach, can help in keeping gums healthy. This involves swirling the oil in your mouth for 10-15 minutes and then spitting it out.

Reducing vata through positive lifestyle practices is essential. Yoga or gentle exercises can be beneficial. Focus on stress management, as stress contributes to tissue depletion. Avoid hard and overly processed foods that can harm gum tissue. If bone density loss is severe, consult with a healthcare professional as well, as certain conditions may require specific interventions beyond dietary or herbal support. Regular dental check-ups are vital for maintaining healthy gums, ensuring there are no infections or that require immediate treatment.
