Migraines, especially as you’ve described with severe right-sided headache, vomiting, and sensitivity to noise, can be tough to manage. Your symptoms align with what traditional Ayurveda might correlate to an imbalance in the Pitta dosha, particularly in the head region. It seems like you’re already seeking modern medical treatment, which is important. Ayurveda can definitely be a complementary approach to manage your symptoms and hopefully provide some relief.

First off, managing diet is crucial. Favor cooling, less spicy foods that help pacify Pitta. Avoid items like sour, fermented, and deep-fried foods as much as possible. Try to include more naturally cooling foods, like cucumbers, coriander, or coconut water. It’s also wise to maintain hydration, drinking plenty of water throughout the day.

Try incorporating nasya therapy, which involves applying herbalized oils like Anu Tailam to the nostrils. Just a couple drops. Morning is prefered time for this. Nasya can support better balance in the head region and might ease the frequency of migraines over time.

Shirodhara, a soothing continuous flow of oil on the forehead, can support calming the mind. If you have access to an Ayurvedic practitioner nearby, it would be best experienced under their supervision to ensure you’re a good candidate.

Another thing worth mentioning is your lifestyle. Aim for regular sleep patterns, as ayurveda advises sleeping and waking at the same time daily. Gentle yoga and meditative practices can also support by reducing stress levels, which potentially trigger migraines.

Should your migraines increase or become unmanageable, ensure to follow up with your neurologist. And any new Ayurvedic practices should be shared with your healthcare provider to complement safely with existing treatments. With consistent care and observation, you’ll hopefully find a balance that works well for you.
