Fatty liver, fatty belly - #20695

Polite

In an effort to reduce fatty liver I took some slimming tablets that removed all the fats and deposited in the belly area. I have gone through a thyroid test and colonoscopy, which tested negative. What should I do to remove the huge belly fat?

Triphala Churna: Detoxifies the digestive tract, improves metabolism. Take 1 tsp with warm water before bed. Medohar Guggul- Breaks down fat tissues and improves thyroid function. Punarnava: Acts as a diuretic and helps reduce bloating and water retention. 2. Diet (Ahara): Warm, light, and cooked foods — avoid cold, raw, and oily foods. Spices like turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, black pepper, and cumin boost digestion. *Avoid dairy, especially full-fat milk, curd, and cheese. *Eat your biggest meal at lunch, and keep dinner light (e.g., moong dal soup, steamed veggies).

Dealing with belly fat, especially post taking slimming tablets, is something best approached with a holistic mindset, rooted deep in Ayurveda principles. Since your thyroid and colonoscopy results came out negative, it sounds like the issue may be more about lifestyle and diet adjustments rather than an underlying medical condition. First, let's talk about your Agni or digestive fire, which regulates how well you metabolize foods. Weak Agni could mean toxins, or "ama," are more likely to accumulate. Drinking a glass of warm water with a squeeze of lemon each morning can help stimulate Agni, aiding digestion and reducing fat deposition. Your diet plays a crucial role in managing belly fat. Focus on eating fresh, home-cooked foods and include spices like turmeric, cumin, and ginger, they all assist in revving up the digestion. Cut down on processed foods, and refined sugars. Instead, opt for whole grains like quinoa, and millet. Engaging in regular physical activity is paramount. A daily routine could include yoga postures targeting the abdomen, like Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Bend) and Naukasana (Boat Pose). Aim for around 30 minutes of exercise at least five times a week. Make sure to get enough sleep, as disrupted sleep can trigger hormonal changes leading to weight gain. Aim for 7-9 hours of restorative sleep. Stay hydrated, but avoid drinking large amounts of water during meals as it can dilute digestive juices. Sip on herbal teas throughout the day – ginger or fennel tea in particular. Finally, have an open mind and patience. Ayurveda is about balance and it takes time for benefits to reveal themselves. If possible, consult with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner who can provide a more personalized plan based on your specific lifestyle and needs.
