Doctors’ responses

Ugh, it's frustrating when meds aren't doing their thing, right? With congestive heart failure on the right side causing fluid buildup in the belly, we gotta focus on pulling that extra water out safely. First, keep in close contact with your healthcare team 'cause Ayurvedic tips can complement not replace what's medically necessary. But in Ayurveda, this water retention or "Shleda Dosh" can be eased by balancing Kapha dosha. One thing, we might look into is your diet. You could minimize salty, oily and heavy foods 'cause they can aggravate Kapha. Favor warm, light meals – think more soups and stews made with veggies, barley, turmeric, ginger; these are naturally diuretic and detoxifying. Consider reducing dairy and red meat, they might slow digestion or agni. Drinking warm water or ginger herbal teas may help move that fluid, but not too much – just sips through the day. Also, try fenugreek or punarnava (Boerhavia diffusa) teas. Punarnava especially known to aid in water retention issues, consider a decoction once daily. Though def check in with a healthcare provider before adding new herbs 'cause they may affect other meds. Daily gentle exercise, like walking or specific yoga postures, if your doctor says is okay, can boost circulation and might reduce fluid buildup. Practicing "Vyayama" – moderate activities helps Kapha too. Remember, you got to listen to your body and avoid overexerting. These steps can make a gradual difference, but with such an immediate concern, don't hesitate in seeking urgent medical care if symptoms become severe or change. Being proactive and in communication with care team is big.
