Hello I get how frustrating it must be as you lose your ability to walk without help, going from a stick to a walker, and still dealing with pain. But hang in there! You can get better with the right treatment, even if it takes time. ✅ WHAT’S GOING ON (AYURVEDIC VIEW) Based on what you’ve told me: * It’s been happening for about 7 months. * It’s gone from walking on your own to needing a stick, and now a walker. * The main problem is bad pain and weakness in your right leg. * You’re losing your balance and strength. This really points to: * Vata Vyadhi (a nerve/joint problem) * Probably involves: –Weak bones and nerves –Joint pain – Maybe some nerve compression or damage In regular medicine, this could be: * Problems with your lower back/discs * Sciatica * Osteoarthritis * Weakness from a stroke WHAT WE’RE TRYING TO DO * Lessen pain * Make nerves stronger * Improve balance * Get you back to using just a walking stick instead of a walker AYURVEDIC PLAN WHAT TO TAKE (regularly) 1. Yograj Guggulu 1 tablet, twice a day after eating → Helps joint pain and stiffness 2.Maharasnadi Kashayam 15 ml mixed with warm water, twice a day → Great for lasting Vata pain 3. Ashwagandha Capsule 1 capsule at night → Helps muscles and nerves get stronger 4.Dashmool Arishta 15 ml with water after lunch and dinner → Aids movement and blood flow EXTERNAL CARE (really important) Daily massage * Use Mahanarayan Taila * Massage your lower back and right leg * Follow with a hot water pack 👉 This alone can make a big you better in 2–3 weeks EXERCISE (keep moving!) * Gentle leg exercises (with someone helping you) * Rotate your ankles, bend your knees while sitting * Practice balancing while standing, holding onto something * Careful not to make quick moves or sit too long WHAT TO EAT (Vata-friendly) ✅ Eat: * Warm, fresh meals * Ghee (1–2 tsp a day) * Milk, lentils, rice, veggies * Nuts (like soaked almonds and walnuts) ❌ Don’t eat: * Cold foods/drinks * Dry, packaged stuff * Too much tea/coffee * Stay up too late TESTS (if you haven’t done them recently) To figure out exactly what’s wrong: * MRI or X-ray of your lower back * Vitamin B12 & D3 levels checked * Nerve test (if recommended) You can still get better. The body heals bit by bit if you fix the Vata issue. Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate

HELLO, You have been having difficulty walking for the last 7 months, first with a stick and now needing a walker, along with pain in the right leg. This means the problems not temporary and has slowly progessed According to Ayurveda this condition is mainly due to –>Aggravation of vata dosha Vata is responsible for -movement -nerve signals -muscle strength -joint lubrication -balance and coordination When vata becomes aggravated and stays uncontrolled for a long time it causes -pain -stiffness -weakness -instability -difficulty in walking This condition usually falls under one or more of the following 1) Vata vyadhi -long standing vata imbalance affecting nerves, muscle, joints 2) Katigata vata -if the problem originates from the lower back, causing pain or weakness in one leg 3) Gridhrasi (sciatica like condition) -If pain radiates from back/hip->thigh->leg->foot 4) Snadhigata vata -If hip or knee joint degeneration is present 5) Asthi and majja dhatu kshaya -Weakening of bones and nerves due to aging, under nutrition or chronic illness TREATMENT GOALS -reduce aggravated vata -relieve pain and stiffness -nouishes nerves ,muscles and joints -improve strength and balance -gradually move from walker-> stick -prevent further worsening INTERNAL MEDICATIONS A) MEDICINES TO PACIFY VATA AND REDUCE PAIN 1) YOGARAJ GUGGULU= 1 tab twice daily after meals =reduces joint pain, improves mobility, corrects chronic vata imbalance B) MEDICINES FOR NERVE STRENGTH AND MUSCLE POWER 1) ASHWAGADHA CHURNA= 1 tsp at night with warm milk =stregthen muscles, nourishes nerves, reduces fatigue and weakness 2) BALA CAPSULES= 1 cap in morning =improves muscle tone, reduces tremors and instability 3) SAHACHARADI KASHAYA= 15ml twice daily with warm water before meals =best mediicne for leg pain and walking difficulty, acts directly on nerves of lower linds 4) DASHMOOLA KASHAYA= 20 ml twice daily with warm water after meals =reduce inflammation, controls deep seated vata DURATION= 2-3 months, sometimes longer depending on recovery EXTERNAL TREATMENT 1) OIL MASSAGE= SAHACHARADI TAILA -apply to lower back, hip, thigh, knee, calf and foot =vata resides in dryness, oil gives lubrication, improvs blood flow, reduces stiffness and pain -daily apply and massage 2) MILD FOMENTATION -after massage warm towel or warm water bath =removes stiffness, opens blocked channels, makes walking easier DIET -warm, freshly cooked food -rice , wheat, green gram -ghee very important -milk -garlic, ginger bone soup/mutton soup AVOID -cold food -curd at night -bakery, dry snacks -excess tea/coffee -fasting -cold exposure LIFESTYLE CHANGES -avoid prolonged sitting -avoid sudden movement -do not suppress urges (urine, stool) -keep body warm -proper sleep YOGA ASANAS -pawanmuktasana -setu bandhasana -gentle stretching Avoid strong or forceful poses PRANAYAM -Anulom vilom -bhramari -deep slow breathing =improves nerves control, reduces pain perception HOME REMEDIES –daily oil application before bath -warm water bath -garlic milk at night if digestion allows -castor oil 5-10 ml with warm milk once weekly Your condition is chronic but manageable Ayurveda focuses on root cause, not masking pain Improvement is gradual not instant Regular treatment + discipline is key Many patients regain walking ability with a stick With proper internal medicines, external therapies, diet correction, and patience- improvement is possible.
