Hello I understand your concern. Sudden shooting pain in knee along with intermittent pain in elbow and shoulder on the same side can feel worrying. In your case, this is most likely due to Vata aggravation affecting joints and ligaments, especially triggered by strain (like descending stairs). It can also indicate early joint wear-and-tear or ligament strain, not something very serious if managed early. The one-sided involvement (right side) often suggests localized strain + posture imbalance rather than a systemic disease. The focus should be on reducing inflammation, strengthening joints, and preventing further strain. Start with Yograj Guggulu 1 tablet twice daily after food Shallaki capsule 1 twice daily after food Apply Mahanarayan taila on knee, elbow, and shoulder daily followed by mild heat. Avoid excessive stair use, deep squats, and high-impact exercise for some time. Continue yoga but avoid strain on joints. If knee pain persists or increases (like locking, swelling, or instability), then a knee X-ray or MRI is advisable to rule out ligament or meniscus injury. Right now, it looks manageable and not serious, just needs timely care. Warm Regards Dr Raghuveer SN

Doctors' responses
A sudden shooting pain while descending steps could indicate a meniscus injury, ligament strain, or patellar tracking issue. Meniscus injuries often cause pain inside the knee, sometimes with a “catching” or “locking” sensation. – if shooting pain is persisting go for mri of that knee. –In the meantime, avoid activities that trigger the pain, like stairs or deep squats, and apply ice if it flares up. -------Rx- 1. Muscalt Forte Tablet – 2 tablets twice daily after meals 2. Muscalt Forte Oil Spray – Apply to knee/affected joints 2–3 times daily, gently massage 3. Ashwagandha Capsule – 1 capsule twice daily with water 4. Warm Ayurvedic Oil Massage (Mahanarayan/Dhanwantharam Taila) – Once daily for 10–15 min —Lifestyle Advice: Prefer warm, cooked foods; include turmeric and ginger. Avoid cold, dry, raw foods. Gentle yoga and warm compresses on painful joints. —Follow-up: Review in 2 weeks; if pain persists or worsens, consider further Ayurvedic therapies or medical evaluation with reports also
Most likely cause is Vata aggravation + joint strain. Your symptoms (sudden shooting knee pain, right-side body pains) suggest Ligament strain / early meniscus irritation (due to step descent) Vata imbalance (causes shifting pain, dryness, cracking joints) Mild early osteoarthritis changes can also start around this age Not serious if treated early, but don’t ignore. Why only right side Overuse of one side (dominant leg/hand) Posture imbalance Vata tends to localize in weak areas Yogaraj Guggulu – 1 tab twice daily after food Dashmool Kwath – 15 ml + warm water, twice daily External Apply Mahanarayan oil (or any medicated oil) on knee, elbow, shoulder Rasansapthaka kashyam 1tab 2times after food Do gentle massage + mild hot fomentation Diet Avoid: cold, dry, excess raw food Take: warm, soft, slightly oily food (ghee helpful)
