I am experiencing pain in hip joints since two daysafter trying a simple exercise involving raising of legs I am 52 years old and have a history of neck and back pain for which I am successfully taking orthoherb daily. Can you suggest a simple home remedy or nedicines available in Kerala for this left hip joint pain.

This looks like Vata aggravation (Vata vriddhi) in the hip joint due to strain from exercise, especially with a history of spine issues. 1. External care (most important) Gentle massage with warm sahacharadi oil oil Follow with mild hot fomentation (hot water bag) for 10–15 min Do this 1–2 times daily 2. Internal support Sahacharadi kwath tab - 2 tab twice a day after meal Yograj Guggulu or Mahayograj Guggulu – helps reduce Vata and joint pain Dashmool Kwath – for inflammation and stiffness (Available easily in Kerala Ayurvedic stores) 3. Home remedies Take 1 tsp castor oil with warm milk at night (2–3 times/week) to pacify Vata Add dry ginger (saunth) in warm water after meals 4. Activity advice Avoid leg-raising or strain exercises for a few days Do only gentle stretching once pain reduces Avoid cold exposure and sitting on hard surfaces

This pain is mainly due to aggravation of Vata Dosha caused by strain from exercise. In Ayurveda, sudden pain in joints and muscles is usually Vata-related. —Diagnosis: Vata aggravation (Vataja Sandhi/Mamsa Shoola – hip strain) —Rx: 1) Rumalaya Forte Tablets 1 tab BD after food 2) Aimil Rumalaya Liniment Local application over left hip 2–3 times daily with gentle massage 3) Shallaki Capsules 1 cap bd after food 4) tab trifla 1 tab at night —Advice: Local Abhyanga ( mahanarayan taila)+ mild swedana (oil massage + heat) Avoid strain/exercise for few days Take warm diet, avoid cold exposure –Follow up: after 5–7 days
