Hi Zubaida, Can you tell me if your mother experiences any other symptoms like dizziness, headaches, or vision changes along with the eye pain? Does she have any history of high blood pressure or heart issues? How is her digestion and appetite? In Ayurveda, eye pain and dryness can be treated with Triphala eye wash or Ghee for lubrication. For throat and nasal dryness, continuing with coconut oil and using Anu Taila for nasal application is beneficial. To support the heart, Arjuna powder or Arjuna bark can help improve circulation and strengthen the heart. Regular breathing exercises like Pranayama may also provide relief.

Addressing the mild pain in your mother's right eye, especially if it's affecting her sleep, it's crucial to first determine if the pain is from an underlying issue like an infection, dry eyes, or an eye strain. If severe or if there's a change in vision, seeking immediate attention from an eye specialist would be wise. However, if the discomfort is manageable, we can explore some Ayurvedic strategies. The eye pain and dryness could be associated with vata imbalance, which tends to increase as we age. For her eyes, you might consider using a few drops of lukewarm castor oil, applied with a clean finger across the eyelid (make sure it does'nt enter the eye), which could potentially help soothe and lubricate eyes. Additionally, for the dryness in the throat and nose, continue with the coconut oil practice, as it offers wonderful moisturizing properties. For the throat, a mix of warm water and turmeric - half teaspoon of turmeric in a cup of warm water before bed might offer soothing relief. Regarding the nasal dryness, inhaling steam or using a saline nasal spray might offer further relief. Preparing a steam inhalation with a few drops of eucalyptus or adding a pinch of Rocksalt can provide better results for nasal passage. Now, about the enlarged heart visible in her x-rays. Reducing stress, both physical and emotional, becomes vital. Regular gentle exercise, like daily walks or breathing exercises (pranayama such as Anulom Vilom) are beneficial. A meditation routine can also positively impact her heart health. However, I must stress the need to follow your medical professional's guidance regarding any heart conditions since an enlarged heart often requires specific interventions. From a dietary perspective, she could focus on a heart-friendly diet. Emphasize cooked, warm foods that balance vata, such as kichadi or a simple soup with carrots, beetroots, and lentils, while promoting easy digestion. Reducing salt intake and ensuring her hydration is critical too. Always make sure any changes you introduce to her routine align with her current health conditions and any treatments she's receiving from her healthcare providers.
