I am really confused about this whole thing with curd. Lately, I started eating curd daily because I've heard it’s good for digestion and all that. But my mom says too much of it can cause phlegm and stuff like that, which worries me 'cause I don't want to end up feeling sick! My aunt's been dealing with some digestive issues, and she’s been trying to add curd daily in her diet too. Last week, I noticed some bloating after having a bowl of it, but I thought maybe it was just something I ate. But then again, I've read online that curd can be super beneficial. But, like, can we eat curd daily? I mean, what’s the right amount? Should it be with meals or can I just snack on it anytime? Also, my friend told me that if I mix it with honey, it enhances benefits, but what do you guys think about that? Is it safe or could that mess things up? I feel like I’m stuck in the middle of a curd debate without the right info. Anyone have thoughts or experiences on this? Are there any side effects I should be mindful of if I keep consuming curd daily?

Try to avoid it at night, as it may increase Kapha-related symptoms like congestion.

Regarding the quantity, a moderate serving — about a small bowl (roughly 100-150 grams) — should suffice for most people, unless specific conditions or symptoms suggested otherwise. Pairing curd with other foods can also influence its effects. Serving it alongside spicy or cooked foods can balance potential mucus formation. Mixing curd with honey is not advisable in Ayurveda. This combination is considered to create ‘ama’ or toxins in the digestive system due to its opposing energetics.
