Pain in your shoulder and arm, especially if it's happening on an empty stomach and easing after eating, might be tied to Vata imbalance. Vata governs movement and it's not surprising that erratic pains and insomnia could arise. That empty stomach hint might suggest 'Vata' is getting aggravated due to improper digestion or air getting trapped. First, let's focus on your daily routine. Try to have set meal times, aiming for warm, nourishing dishes. Think soups or well-cooked veggies seasoned with spices like ginger and cumin, which can balance Vata. You'll want to avoid raw foods, cold drinks, and beans which can provoke that dosha further. Try having a light dinner at same time each night, maybe two hours before sleep. It could help with your insomnia as well. Herbal support can be useful. Consider Ashwagandha, an adaptogen which can help calm the mind and ease pain. You could have it as a tea or capsule—it helps regulate your body's stress response, which is key in better sleep too. You might try gentle yoga or stretches that focus on the upper body, it could aid your shoulder condition. Remember not to push your body too hard though. Just simple exercises that keep the movement fluid without causing strain. Smoking, oh boy, it's definitely not helping. I know it’s hard, but reducing smoking could have a beneficial impact on your pain and sleep issues. Lastly, ensure you have warm oil massage with sesame or olive oil over affected areas. Warmth tends to soothe muscular tension. Warm bath in evening might be helpful too. If pain persists, though, do consult a healthcare professional. It's important to rule out any other underlying cause, especially with consistent pain. Your wellbeing's a priority.
