So you’re asking if you can combine ashwathantha tablets with your antipsychotic and antidepressant medications. Okay, first thing, I totally get why you’d want to consider this, but mixing herbs and pharmaceuticals can get tricky. Ashwathantha, I’m guessing you meant “ashwagandha,” is a popular adaptogenic herb in Ayurveda known for its calming effects, sometimes recommended for stress and mild depression. But it’s crucial to know it might interact with medication, especially those for mental health.

Always, always talk to your psychiatrist or healthcare provider before adding something new. They can help decide the best approach since they know your complete medical history. You might think, “I’ve been on these meds for ages,” but herbs can sometimes alter how well your meds work or even heighten their effects. That’s potentially risky, as it might lead to side effects or reduced efficacy of your current treatment.

If they give you the green light, dosage can actually vary widely. Ayurvedic practitioners often start with as low as 250 mg of ashwagandha extract daily, and sometimes it goes up to 600 mg. But again, your personal constitution, dosha balance, and the severity of your symptoms are essential considerations. What’s mild for one person might be too much for another, you know?

And about the urgency, if you’re considering this change because symptoms are worsening or aren’t improving, reach out to your doctor soon. Never stop or alter the dose of your prescribed meds without their guidance. It’s all about finding the right balance, which is often as much art as science!

You can continue But I have better suggestion Start “Brahmyadi Churna” it is a combination of Brahmi, Shankhapushpi, Jatamansi, Jyotishmati, Vacha and Ashwagandha Along with this do 30 min yoga daily. If possible you can do Shirodhara Panchkarma.
