how to make honey amla - #44334

Audrey

I am feeling kinda lost right now with my health, and I stumbled upon this honey amla thing while searching for natural remedies. Recently, I’ve been dealing with some low energy and pretty bad digestion issues, plus my hair has been falling out more than usual. I remember my grandma always talking about how honey and amla are super good for you, but I never paid much attention until now. I found out that honey amla is supposed to help boost your immunity and even improve digestion, which sounds like what I need. But I have no idea how to make honey amla! Like, do you just mix them together or what?? I’m also curious if there’s a specific way to prepare it, like if I should use fresh amla or can I use dried one? And how much honey and amla should I use? I’ve seen some recipes online, but they were all different and a bit confusing, tbh. Can someone please tell me step by step how to make honey amla? I’m really hoping this will help with my low energy and maybe even my hair situation too. Any tips would be great! Thanks a lot, I feel overwhelmed with all this info!!

Making honey amla at home is pretty straightforward, and it’s a fabulous natural remedy that aligns beautifully with Ayurvedic principles. Here’s a simple way to make it.

Firstly, you can use either fresh amla (Indian gooseberry) or dried amla. Fresh is ideal, as it retains maximum nutrients, but if it’s hard to find, dried amla works too. If using fresh amla, wash them thoroughly and pat dry. Remove the seed and cut them into small pieces. If you’re using dried amla, you can soak them overnight in warm water to soften them a bit.

Once you have prepared the amla, take a clean, sterilized jar (glass is preferred) for storing this mixture. Layer the jar with amla pieces, then pour raw, organic honey over the top until the amla is completely submerged. For optimal benefit, make sure the honey is raw as it retains more of its natural properties. Cover the jar and let it sit for at least a week at room temperature. This allows the honey to infuse with the properties of amla.

As for the proportions, generally, aim for about a 1:1 ratio by volume when layering. However, don’t stress about precision; just ensure the honey adequately covers the amla. Ideally, consume around 1-2 teaspoons of the concoction daily.

Regarding your energy and hair, amla is rich in Vitamin C and supports digestion, which can help improve nutrient absorption and boost your energy levels. It is also beneficial for hair health due to its antioxidant properties. However, ensure you’re consuming a balanced diet to address hair fall and consider your whole lifestyle, including stress and sleep, as these are factors in energy and hair health.

Remember, start with small quantities to see how your body responds, and also consult your healthcare provider, especially if you have specific health conditions.
