Doctors' responses

Hello, I hope there is salt control and she is not under any psychological stress and also not under any other medication for any other chronic health issues. In that case, Yes. You can start giving 2 tablets then keep a check on blood pressure to decide whether to give next dose one tablet…like this you can decide…or else just meet the doctor once, who prescribed this tablet(which is the best way to go forward. But please make note of blood pressure two times a day, without fail. Take care, Kind regards.

Blood pressure with 190/90 should never be neglected Once get her routine investigations done like ECG 2 D echo n according to her symptoms required investigations to be done

If everything is normal n as a supportive you can start her on Mukta vati 1 tab twice daily But do not stop or withdraw the allopathic medicine suddenly Regular monitoring is required

HELLO,

Your mother’s Bp readings 190-184/90s fall under hypertensive crisis range.

She should NOT double the dose on her own -doubling Cardocare without a doctor’s advice can cause –sudden Bp drop –dizziness, fainting –kidneyor heart complications

WHAT SHE SHOULD DO NOW -Consult a physician immediately same day -if symptoms like headache, chest pain, breathlessness, blurred Vision, nausea appear-> ER visit urgently

WHY BP MAY RISE DESPITE REGULAR MEDICINE Even after 6+ months of Cardocare -disease progression -salt sensitivity with age -stress (even if not obvious) -need for dose adjustment or an additional medicine -reduced drug effectiveness over time

Only your doctor can safely adjust this

In Ayurveda, hypertension is linked to -vata + pitta imbalance -affected Rasa and Rakta dhatu -mental stress, suppressed emotions -reduced elasticity of blood vesels

AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT

DIET- VERY IMPORTANT

Strictly reduce salt -no pickles, papad, packaged foods -avoid baking soda, sauces

RECOMMENDED FOODS -warm, freshly cooked meals -lauki, tori, pumkin, spinach -barley , oats -garic 1-2 cloves cooked daily -pomegranate, amla

AVOID -fried foods -curd at night -tea/coffee excess -cold, stale food

LIFESTYLE -sleep before 10:30 pm -gentle morning walk 20-30 min -avoid daytime sleep -no anger, overthinking, or mental strain

YOGA AND PRANAYAM (daily) -Anulom Vilom= 10-15 min -Bhramari= 7-9 rounds -Shavasana= 10 min daily

Avoid kapalbhati in high Bp crisis

AYURVEDIC MEDICATIONS

1) SARPAGANDHA VATI= 1 tab in morning with warm water

2) ARJUNA CAPSULE= 1 cap twice daily after meals for heart support

3) BRAHMI VATI= 1 tab at night for stress induced Bp

EXTERNAL THERAPIES -OIL MASSAGE with warm sesame oil 3-4 times/week

These help regulate vata and nervous system

IMPORTANT REMINDER -Modern Bp medicines should NOT be stopped suddenly -Ayurveda works best as integrative support -Emergency control= modern medicine -long term balance= Ayurveda + Lifestyle

DO FOLLOW

HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL

THANK YOU

DR. MAITRI ACHARYA

Hello I get why you’re worried. Blood pressure readings like 184–190 over 90s are dangerously high, especially for an older person. This needs quick and careful attention

YOUR CONCERN - BP: 184–190 / 90s - Medicine: Cardocare, one tablet in the morning and evening - Been on it: Over 6 months - Side effects: None so far - Lifestyle changes: None yet

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST

Don’t try to double her BP medicine on your own. Even if her numbers look scary, upping the dose without a doctor can actually make things worse. You risk a sudden drop in BP, dizziness, fainting, kidney problems, or messing up her electrolytes. Only a doctor should adjust her meds after checking her properly.

WHY THIS BP IS SO SERIOUS

When BP stays above 180 on top, she’s at risk for a hypertensive crisis. That can cause a stroke, heart attack, brain bleed, or kidney damage. Even if she feels fine right now, this isn’t something to wait on.

✅ WHAT TO DO NEXT, STEP BY STEP

Step 1: Double check her BP - Let her rest quietly for 5–10 minutes. - Check her BP again, in both arms. - Wait 30 minutes and check again. - If it’s still above 180, don’t wait—move on to the next step.

Step 2: Call or see a doctor right away - She’ll probably need her medicine changed or an extra medication, not just a higher dose. - If her BP stays above 180 or she starts feeling unwell, go straight to the emergency room.

GO TO THE ER NOW IF SHE HAS: - Severe headache - Chest pain - Trouble breathing - Dizziness or blurred vision - Vomiting - Weakness on one side

AYURVEDIC VIEWPOINT

Uncontrolled BP like this points to imbalances like Prana Vata and Vyana Vata, and issues with Rakta Dushti. Things like stress, stiff blood vessels, or just aging can play a role. Ayurveda can help support, but it can’t replace urgent BP treatment right now.

AYURVEDIC SUPPORT

- Arjunaristha 30 ml twice daily after food helps the heart - Ashwagandha 1 tablet twice daily after food is for stress-related BP, and again, only start after talking to your doctor

TESTS THE DOCTOR MAY SUGGEST ONCE SHE’S STABLE - ECG - Kidney function - Electrolytes - Lipid profile - Eye exam (fundus)

TEMPORARY DIET & LIFESTYLE TIPS

Until her BP is under control: - Keep salt very low—skip pickles, papad, and packaged snacks - Make sure she drinks enough water - Avoid stress, heavy activity, and staying up late

MOST IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER - Don’t increase the Cardocare dose on your own - BP this high always needs quick medical attention, no matter how she feels

Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate

THANK YOU FOR REACHING OUT AND TRUSTING ME WITH YOUR MOTHERS HEALTH JOURNEY WHAT YOU ARE DESCRIBING IS A SERIOUSLY ELEVATED BLOOD PRESSURE LEVEL AND IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO HANDLE THIS CALMLY AND SAFELY PLEASE DO NOT DOUBLE THE DOSE OF CARDIOCARE ON YOUR OWN EVEN IF BP IS HIGH SUDDENLY INCREASING DOSE CAN LEAD TO DROP IN BP DIZZINESS WEAKNESS OR HEART RELATED COMPLICATIONS

FROM AN AYURVEDIC POINT OF VIEW SUCH SUDDEN RISE IN BP AFTER BEING STABLE FOR MONTHS USUALLY INDICATES VATA AND PITTA AGGRAVATION ALONG WITH RASA AND RAKTA DUSHTI STRESS INTERNAL HEAT SLEEP DISTURBANCE SALT INTAKE OR AGE RELATED CHANGES CAN TRIGGER THIS EVEN WITHOUT OBVIOUS LIFESTYLE CHANGES

FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANT STEP PLEASE GET HER BP MEASURED TWICE DAILY MORNING AND EVENING FOR THREE DAYS AND ALSO GET BASIC INVESTIGATIONS DONE INCLUDING ECG TWO D ECHO SERUM CREATININE ELECTROLYTES FASTING BLOOD SUGAR LIPID PROFILE AND URINE ROUTINE THIS IS NECESSARY TO RULE OUT ANY ORGAN STRESS DUE TO HIGH BP

FROM AYURVEDIC SIDE ALONG WITH CONTINUING HER CURRENT BP MEDICINE AS ADVISED BY HER PHYSICIAN THE FOLLOWING SUPPORTIVE MEDICINES CAN BE STARTED UNDER SUPERVISION SARPAGANDHA GHANA VATI ONE TABLET MORNING AND ONE TABLET AT NIGHT AFTER FOOD ARJUNARISHTA FIFTEEN ML WITH EQUAL WATER TWICE DAILY AFTER MEALS BRAHMI VATI ONE TABLET AT NIGHT TO CALM MIND AND VATA MUKTA PISHTI ONE HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE MG ONCE DAILY WITH HONEY OR GHEE IF AVAILABLE

SALT INTAKE MUST BE STRICTLY REDUCED AVOID PICKLES PAPADS BAKERY FRIED ITEMS TEA COFFEE AND LATE NIGHT DINNER ENCOURAGE WARM SIMPLE HOME FOOD REGULAR MEAL TIMING ADEQUATE SLEEP AND DAILY TEN TO FIFTEEN MINUTES OF SLOW DEEP BREATHING

IF BP CONTINUES TO REMAIN ABOVE ONE EIGHTY DESPITE THIS OR IF THERE IS HEADACHE CHEST DISCOMFORT BREATHLESSNESS OR VISION CHANGES PLEASE CONSULT A PHYSICIAN IMMEDIATELY THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT

ONCE BP STARTS COMING DOWN GRADUALLY WE CAN WORK ON ROOT CAUSE BALANCING VATA PITTA CLEANSING RASA RAKTA AND STRENGTHENING HRIDAYA AND SROTAS WITH LONG TERM AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT PLEASE DO NOT PANIC BUT ALSO DO NOT IGNORE THESE READINGS THIS CONDITION IS REVERSIBLE WITH RIGHT CARE AND TIMELY ACTION

BP 190–184 / 90s = hypertensive crisis level Do NOT double the dose on your own

What she should do NOW: Check BP again after 10–15 minutes of rest (sitting calmly). If BP is still above 180 systolic, go to the nearest hospital / emergency immediately. If she has headache, chest pain, dizziness, vomiting, breathlessness, blurred vision → ER immediately.

Do NOT double the dose yourself – sudden increase can cause dangerous low BP, dizziness or fall (especially at her age).

Check BP again – 2–3 times today (sit quietly 5 min before measuring, arm at heart level).

If consistently >180/100 then contact her doctor TODAY or go to emergency/OPD (high risk of stroke/heart strain).

If 160–179/90–99 , call doctor same day for advice (may need dose increase, add another medicine or short-term adjustment).

Safe immediate steps while waiting - Rest in quiet place, legs elevated. - Drink plain water (not too much). - Avoid salt, caffeine, stress.

If she feels headache, chest pain, dizziness, vision blur then go to emergency immediately.

Long-term suggestion Add Arjunarishta 15 ml + 30 ml warm water twice daily (heart tonic, safe with Cardocare). Start 30–45 min daily walk + low-salt diet (helps BP without extra medicine).

Take care , hope it comes down soon.
