Dear Doctor, I have been suffering with tingling pain and numbness of my feet and palms, especially the finger joints. Further, I have some discomfort in my lower back, knee joints and ankle joints. Please advise me proper medication.

HELLO, Based on your symptoms(tingling, numbness in palms and feet, joint discomfort, lower back, worse on prolonged sitting, moderate intensity ) in Ayurveda this commonly indicates Vata aggravation, possibly associated with vata vyadhi, gridhrasi tendency or early sandhigata vata (joint involvement) INTERNAL MEDICATIONS 1) YOGARAJ GUGGULU= 2 tabs twice daily after meals helps joint pain and stiffness 2) ASHWAGANDHA CHURNA= 1 tsp with warm milk at bedtime nervine tonic , reduces tingling and weakness 3) DASHMOOLA KASHAYA= 20ml with equal warm water twice daily before meals for vata and inflammation 4) BALARISHTA= 15ml + equal water after meals twice daily reduces numbness EXTERNAL THERAPY 1) DAILY OIL MASSAGE with warm Mahanarayan taila -esepcially feet, palms, lower back and knees 2)follow with mild hot water bath DIET AND LIFESTYLE -prefer warm , freshly cooked, slightly oily food -include cow hee 1 tsp daily -use garlic, ginger, ajwain in cooking -drink warm water -Avoid cold foods, dry snacks, excessive tea and coffee -avoid long sitting- take breaks every 30-45 minutes -Gentle yoga= bhujangasana, makarasana, pawanmuktasana -Regular sleep before 10:30 pm Tingling and numbness can also be associated with -vitamin b12 deficiency -diabetes -cervical/lumbar spondylosis get basic blood sugar , vitamin b12, vitamin D If managed properly, improvement is usually seen in 4-6 weeks DO FOLLOW HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL THANK YOU

Hi what you are describing are generally caused due to deficiency of vitamin D, vit B12 and calcium additionally these symptoms can also arise from diabetes. so please do blood investigations for the same. Including an FBS. Additionally these can also be caused due to nerve irritations caused by joint inflammation or spinal compression, so if you have additional complaints of joint pains, like pain in neck region radiating down or lower back ache radiating down both legs spinal xray is also beneficial. Given all that these symptoms can be resolved temporarily with *Maha vatavidwamsa ras 1 tab twice daily after food *Ashtavargam kashayam 15 ml twice daily after food mixed with 60 ml luke warm water *Sahacharadi taila 101A 10 drops mixed in milk or hot water twice daily empty stomach in morning and at bed time * Dhanwantaram gulika 2tab thrice daily before food.
