Anything that is bothering you? Or have done anything different in these 2 days? In Ayurveda, sleep disturbances are often due to imbalances in Vata and Pitta doshas, leading to restlessness and an overactive mind. To address this, I recommend herbs like Brahmi and Jatamansi for their calming and mind-soothing properties. Ashwagandha helps manage stress and promotes relaxation, while Tagara and Shankhpushpi support natural, restful sleep. Additionally, a warm oil massage (Abhyanga) with sesame or Brahmi oil before bed can help calm the nervous system. Drinking warm milk with a pinch of nutmeg at night also aids in inducing sleep. To further support restful sleep, applying Anu Taila in the nostrils and maintaining a consistent sleep routine are highly beneficial. Consultation with an Ayurvedic practitioner is advised for personalized treatment.

Oh, sleep troubles can be so frustrating, can’t they? Especially when it messes with your whole day, mind’s all over the place. Ayurvedically speaking, sleep disturbances often relate to Vata dosha imbalance. Vata, with its light and mobile qualities, when imbalanced, can leave the mind restless at night.

First thing, let’s talk about your evening routine. Try winding down at least an hour before hitting bed. Ditch screens, if you can, and maybe dive into a good book or some light stretching. Even breathing exercises, like the Nadi Shodhana pranayama, could really help calm everything down.

Diet counts too. Making dinner a lighter meal, preferably warm and slightly oily, can ground Vata. Think of kheer or moong dal soup. Something easy to digest, but nourishing too. Add spices like cumin or fennel, they can support digestion, which is super important, especially in Ayurveda.

Ever thought about Abhyanga? It’s basically oil massage, using warm sesame or coconut oil. Doing it before you shower could be helpful—it relaxes your nervous system and preps you for rest. It doesn’t have to be long or anything, just 15 mins might do wonders.

And herbs! Ashwagandha and Jatamansi are excellent for calming the mind and body. Could think about taking them as a supplement or in warm milk, but it’s best to check with someone who knows your full health picture—never want to run risks with herbs!

Avoid caffeine or stimulants in the afternoon, those sneaky things can really interfere with your natural sleep rhythms. Even tea can be surprising as a sleep interrupter.

If this mess of sleep continues, or accompanies chest pain, difficulty breathing, or anxiety, it’s always a good idea to consult face-to-face with a professional. Just want to be sure there’s nothing more serious lingering, right? Take care and small steps, they lead to some pretty big change!
