Allergic pulmonary issues in children can indeed be challenging to manage, especially with the additional environmental factors like humidity. In Ayurveda, we often address both the symptoms and the root cause, which is tied to underlying dosha imbalances. It seems your daughter might be experiencing an imbalance, possibly of the Kapha dosha, given her breathing issues in high humidity.

Firstly, it’s essential to ensure her diet aligns with reducing Kapha. Focus on warm, light, and easy-to-digest foods. Encourage dishes like warm soups, light dal, and spiced vegetables. Avoid cold, oily, or excessively sweet foods as these can aggravate her symptoms. Also, consider incorporating gentle spices such as ginger, turmeric, and a touch of black pepper in her meals. These can help balance Kapha and aid in digestion, potentially alleviating some of her symptoms.

Additionally, managing her environment can be key. Since you mentioned she reacts more in the summer months, it’s worth trying to maintain her room at a comfortable temperature and humidity level, perhaps with the use of a dehumidifier if that’s practical. Regularly airing out her room and ensuring good ventilation can also be beneficial.

A simple practice that you can try is steam inhalation. Once or twice a day, have her inhale steam with a few drops of eucalyptus oil. This can help open her airways and offer some immediate relief.

Consider setting up a regular routine for her, as regularity can help balance doshas. Try to have her wake up, eat meals, and sleep at the same times each day. Including a short daily massage with warm sesame oil followed by a warm bath can also be beneficial.

However, always ensure that alongside these Ayurvedic approaches, she continues with any medical treatments suggested by her physician. If her breathing difficulties worsen, or you notice any distress, it’s crucial to seek immediate medical attention. Balancing natural remedies with conventional care ensures her safety and well-being.

Remember, every child is unique, so observing how she responds to these changes and adjusting them as needed will be important. Keep in touch with healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach.
