Ayurvedic treatment for sinusitis focuses on alleviating symptoms, reducing inflammation, and promoting overall respiratory health. These methods will also improve your sleep. Here are some commonly recommended approaches: Herbal Remedies Triphala: A blend of three fruits that supports detoxification and boosts immunity. Turmeric (Curcuma longa): Has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties; can be taken as a supplement or in warm milk. Ginger (Zingiber officinale): Helps reduce inflammation and can be consumed as tea or in food. Tulsi (Holy Basil): Known for its immune-boosting and anti-inflammatory effects; can be consumed as tea. Dietary Recommendations Warm, cooked foods: Include soups and stews that are easy to digest and nourishing. Avoid dairy products: These can increase mucus production in some individuals. Spices: Use spices like black pepper and cumin to aid digestion and reduce congestion. Lifestyle Changes Steam inhalation: Inhale steam with added eucalyptus oil or peppermint to help relieve sinus congestion. Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of warm fluids to thin mucus. Avoid allergens: Identify and reduce exposure to allergens that may trigger sinusitis. Nasal Care Neti Pot: Use a saline solution for nasal irrigation to help clear sinuses. Warm compress: Apply to the face to relieve sinus pressure. Panchakarma Detoxification therapies: Consult with a qualified practitioner for treatments such as Nasya (nasal therapy) to clear sinuses and improve overall health. Consultation Always consult with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner for a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific symptoms and health condition. They can provide a comprehensive assessment and recommend effective therapies.

Your chronic sinus issue may be related to an imbalance in Kapha dosha, which can lead to excess mucus, congestion, and difficulty in breathing. To address this, Ayurvedic remedies can offer relief. One effective remedy is Sitopaladi Churna, a classical Ayurvedic formulation that helps clear mucus and improve respiratory function. You can take 1 teaspoon of Sitopaladi Churna with honey twice daily after meals. Additionally, Trikatu Churna, which contains ginger, black pepper, and long pepper, is beneficial for reducing Kapha and clearing sinus congestion—take 1/2 teaspoon with warm water twice daily. Nasya therapy (nasal oil treatment) using Anu Taila can also provide great relief by lubricating the nasal passages and reducing congestion; apply 2-3 drops of the oil in each nostril in the morning. Steam inhalation with eucalyptus oil or herbal decoctions made from Tulsi (holy basil), Turmeric, and Ginger can further help open up blocked sinuses and ease breathing. Avoid cold, heavy foods, and dairy products, as they can increase Kapha and worsen the condition. Eating warm, light meals with spices like cumin, coriander, and black pepper will support digestion and help reduce sinus-related symptoms. If symptoms persist, consider consulting an Ayurvedic practitioner for further guidance, including detoxification therapies like Vamana (therapeutic vomiting) or Panchakarma to balance Kapha and clear the sinus passages.
