which juice is best for weight gain - #23857

Penelope

I am really confused about something. I’ve been trying to gain some weight — I know it sounds strange, but I've always been on the thinner side and I feel like I need more energy. I eat snacks and meals throughout the day, but I think I need some help. Last week, my friend mentioned that drinking juices could be beneficial. Now I'm wondering: which juice is best for weight gain? I tried a few different ones like banana smoothie and mango juice, but I'm not sure if they’re actually helping. Sometimes I feel like I'm just drinking sugar, you know? I read somewhere that juices can have lots of calories, but which juice is best for weight gain in a healthy way? I want to make sure I'm doing it right and not just loading up on empty carbs! Any recommendations or ideas? Maybe some recipes to try? Thanks!

To address your concerns about weight gain and juice intake, let's focus on Ayurvedic principles that promote healthy weight gain with proper nourishment. In Ayurveda, achieving weight gain requires nurturing and balancing your body's doshas, primarily Vata, without overly aggravating Kapha. One ideal juice for healthy weight gain is a nut and date smoothie. For an Ayurvedic approach, blend a handful of soaked almonds, a few soaked dates, and boiled milk (or a plant-based alternative like almond milk) to create a nourishing drink. This smoothie supports strength, energizes the ahara rasa (digested food nutrient pool), and promotes healthy tissues. Dates and almonds are excellent for building ojas, critical for vitality and sustaining energy. Another choice can be a mixture of banana with some ghee (clarified butter) and a pinch of turmeric. Blend one ripe banana with a teaspoon of ghee, a pinch of turmeric, and a cup of milk. This combo is beneficial for increasing Kapha in a balanced way, reducing dryness, and promoting nourishment – without relying on sugars alone. Additionally, try carrot and beetroot juice with a hint of ginger. While not high in calories by themselves, these juices improve digestion and, with enough nutrients, optimize nutrient absorption supporting healthy weight gain. When combined, it tastes good ensuring you keep your digestive 'agni' strong, keying for assimilating nutrients properly. The preparation should be straightforward; use fresh ingredients, preferably organic, and consume immediately after juicing to retain their nutrient value. To balance your diet, complement these juices with nutrient-dense foods like whole grains, legumes, and healthy fats. It will support stable weight gain while boosting your energy levels sustainably. Always keep an eye on your overall dietary intake to ensure it's comprehensive and balanced. If you notice significant changes in your health or need further personalized suggestions, do not hesitate to consult a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner who can offer customized guidance considering your unique body constitution.
