which drink is good for health - #23387

Mia

I am trying to figure out which drink is good for health, because honestly, I’ve been feeling so sluggish lately. Just last week, I felt exhausted by noon even after having coffee in the morn. I thought maybe I needed to switch things up? So I’ve been scanning articles and forums but they’re all over the place. I used to think green tea was the answer, but now I read somewhere that ginger tea is amazing too, ugh, it’s so confusing. At some point, I even tried making smoothies with spinach – but they didn’t taste good at all! On top of that, I’ve been craving soda when I’m stressed, which doesn't help. So now I'm really stuck on which drink is good for health? Are there specific ingredients I should look for? Or drinks that actually provide energy without all that sugar? I want something that gives me a boost but doesn’t ruin my health! I really appreciate any advice that can help me choose the right drinks moving forward — thanks!

When you're feeling sluggish, finding the right drink can indeed be a bit of a journey, but I got a few recommendations rooted in Ayurvedic wisdom that could help you regain that energy without compromising your health. First off, since you're feeling exhausted, it's important to balance the dosha that's likely causing this. Your Vata or Kapha might be out of alignment, particularly if you're feeling low energy or indulging in stress-related cravings like soda. Coffee, especially, might disturb Vata, leading to a feeling of energy spikes followed by crashes. Ginger tea is indeed a great choice! It's warming and helps boost your digestive fire, or ‘agni’. To prepare, just thinly slice some fresh ginger and boil it in water for about 10 minutes. Squeeze some lemon and a touch of honey once it's cooled a bit. Drink this first thing in the morning to rev up, then perhaps one more cup later in the day when you're feeling sluggish. You might also benefit from Tulsi tea, aka holy basil, which helps manage stress and improves energy levels. Just steep a couple of leaves in hot water for about 5 minutes for a soothing drink you can enjoy daily. As for smoothies, maybe we can improve the flavor and health aspects by including berries like blueberries for antioxidants, a banana for sweetness, and a pinch of turmeric for its anti-inflammatory benefits. Blend with almond milk or water first thing for a real energy boost. Also, try avoid sodas. Opt for coconut water – it hydrates and provides electrolytes without the sugar overload. It's perfect for sipping throughout the day when craving something refreshing. Keep in mind, though, these drinks should be parts of a balanced lifestyle and not seen as quick fixes. Assess your daily routines, stress, and sleep as they all play crucial roles in energy levels. And, always tailor these suggestions to your personal health and dietary restrictions. Take care!
