is gulkand good for weight loss - #25901

Elijah

I am trying to figure out if gulkand is good for weight loss. Lately, I've been looking into natural remedies and heard about gulkand, but I’m kinda confused. I mean, a friend of mine swears by it, saying it helps him curb cravings, but I also read some articles saying it's just sugary rose jam? Last month, I started feeling like my clothes are tighter and I'm not eating much junk, just the usual meals at home, but I can't seem to lose this extra weight. I've tried exercising too, but honestly, it's been tough to stay motivated. Anyway, last week, I decided to try adding gulkand to my tea. I liked it, really! But I can't help but wonder, is gulkand good for weight loss, or am I just wasting my time? Should I be careful with it since it’s sweet? I read somewhere that it could refresh the body and maybe help digestion, but that’s not really the same as shedding pounds, right? Any advice from you guys would be super helpful!

Gulkand, a sweet preserve made from rose petals and sugar, is cherished in Ayurveda for its cooling properties. You’re right that it’s mainly known for alleviating pitta dosha imbalances, providing relief from heat-related conditions, and aiding digestion. However, when it comes to weight loss, it's a tricky thing. While Gulkand can help soothe the digestive system and may slightly help with cravings due to its richness and sweetness, using it as a primary weight loss remedy might mislead you. Since it contains a significant amount of sugar, excessive consumption without balancing other dietary habits might not support weight loss. But, this doesn’t mean you need to rule it out completely. Enjoying gulkand in moderation, especially in your tea, can be a delightful experience, just keep in mind not to overdo it. In Ayurveda, weight management often comes down to balancing your dominant dosha and supporting optimal agni, or digestive fire. Adding herbs and foods that boost metabolism and promote cleansing—like ginger, turmeric, or even some other Ayurvedic churnas—might be more effective. Regular exercise is indeed challenging, yet crucial. If cardio feels a bit much right now, activities like yoga or brisk walking can be beneficial. Think about tweaking your meals a bit, incorporating more fruits and veggies, while keeping meals regular, warm, and lightly spiced to stimulate digestion. Maybe consider having smaller, more frequent meals to avoid overwhelming your digestive system. Gulkand can stay as an occasional pleasure, alongside these adjustments. If you've only seen minimal change despite honest efforts, you may want to explore if there's an underlying concern like thyroid issues or metabolim slowdowns. Consulting with a healthcare provider for a holistic approach, while balancing these Ayurvedic principles, would add more clarity on how to go further with your weight goals and health overall.
